VIRGINIA WINE & CHARITY: PERFECT COMBINATION

Updated: May 9, 2023

Many of you may know that in addition to my marketing career and wine life, I founded and run a charity called Cindy’s Legacy. For those who don’t, here’s the story.

I founded Cindy’s Legacy in 2011 after my mother passed away from brain cancer. Our mission is to provide financial aid and administrative assistance to cancer patients. It makes me so proud to say that

since November 2011 we have provided more than $20,000 to 100+ cancer patients around the country.

This is truly a labor of love. I don’t get paid to do this, and I certainly don’t do it for any sort of praise or recognition. I do it for the people who need our help.

But, we can’t help people without funds – and that’s where the wine comes in to play! My mother loved wine, which is probably where I got it from. So, a few years ago we began hosting a wine tasting event to raise money, and it’s been really successful. However, this year we’ve changed things up, and I’d like to tell you all about it.

I am very excited that after several years of hosting this event at a wine shop, we recently secured a Virginia winery to help us host the event. This means a lot to me, especially since I am so intertwined in the Virginia wine community. The event will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyard in Hamilton, Virginia. We’ll have a private tasting, finger food, silent auction, gift bags for everyone, and raffle prizes. It’ll be an intimate event with lots of networking opportunities and pure fun, all while helping to support cancer patients.

Cindy’s Legacy is an all volunteer organization so virtually every penny we receive goes right back to support our patients. We are truly honored that The Barns will be hosting us this year. We hope you’ll stay after our event and listen to a live band while enjoying some of the wine you will undoubtedly buy.

We are also having some conversations with other vineyards to do more of these events periodically throughout the year. So stay tuned for more on that front.

If you are interested in joining us for the April 3rd event, visit our registration page to learn more and get signed up today. The cost is $40.00 per person and again this includes light fare, glass and a gift bag to take home.

Lastly, this is quite the stroll down memory lane but if you never read my blog about The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyard, which was written before they actually opened (private blogger day), check it out here.
